“Sustainable city – with children and for children” project

As part of the “Sustainable city – with children and for children” project, we held an exhibition of models of sustainable cities with students of the lower grades of Primary school Viktor Cara Emina Lovran and Veprinac Elementary (regional) School.
With us in Lovran were the head of the Municipality of Lovran Elvira Jović Ban and the principal of  Primary School of Viktora Cara Emina Lovran Barbara Kalčić Grabrovac.
The program was led by participants of the Children’s Forum. The students presented their sustainable cities, which they made in the framework of creative workshops. They see Lovran as a sustainable community through landscaping, recycling, installation of solar panels, installation of hydroelectric power plants, sale of quality and healthy food, playgrounds made of natural materials, confectionery made from grown fruit and much more. Both teachers and children emphasize how much they have learned through this project through play, interactive and creative workshops.

In Veprinac, students presented their sustainable communities to adults through dance, song, beautiful models and messages from children!
The meeting ended with the message “More flowers, less trash” with dancing and accordion sounds!

The project is implemented with the support of the Ministry of Science and Education. The content of the publication is the sole responsibility of the Society “Our children” Opatija.
