This weekend (March 15-16, 2024) in Zagreb (Hotel Academia), a training was held for new mentors of the Children’s Council and Children’s Forum within the framework of the project of Union of SOC Croatia “Influence, not just a decoration” and implementation of participation of children in the decision-making of the Ministry of labor, pension system, family and social policy.
The leaders of the education program were experienced lecturers in the field of children’s participation: Sanja Škorić (fundamentals for the establishment and work of Children’s Councils and Children’s Forums) and Ivana Borić (Foundations of children’s rights and children’s participation – from principles to practice).
The training was attended by 36 participants from city/municipal administrations and Societies “Our Children” from 27 local communities from all over Croatia.
With this education, new Children’s Councils and forums will be launched in many areas, as well as strengthen the existing network and active participation of children in decision-making processes.
